This is turning into an insulting, uncool thread. It had to based on the question asked. More TB fun times.

Then you're a bad listener. It's NOT bad music.maybe I’m not the BEST listener
But 80s and hair metal IS bad music.![]()
Anything by Bad Company, Badfinger, Bad English ... whom have I missed?
Nope. Peter Schiekele (who just passed) would not have had such a great career as P.D.Q. Bach if there was no such thing as bad music.there's no good and bad, there's stuff you like and stuff you don't.
The Bad Plus, but they Are plus, so, less bad which may be good.Anything by Bad Company, Badfinger, Bad English ... whom have I missed?
Oh calm down it’s all in good funThen you're a bad listener. It's NOT bad music.
You just don't like it, it's just your opinion not a fact.
I don't like grunge, the majority of 70s rock etc...It doesn't mean it's bad.
What is "bad" music to you?
I'm calm, just kept the fun going.Oh calm down it’s all in good fun
Lol. Not good or fun but that never stopped anyone. Is it?
Maybe not.Maybe?
I agree with you for the most part but there are quite a few people that are considered "legends" with a career full of live, and some studio performances, that those standards don't seem to apply to.Colloquially I'll refer to something as "bad music" if it doesn't appeal to me for any of the following reasons: it is overly formulaic (often by design), unimaginative, lacking in any display of musical talent either in the writing or performance of the piece (harmony, rhythm, lyrics, phrasing, etc.). But in reality I don't think such music is necessarily "bad". If pressed I'd probably say that the music in question is devoid of artistry more than its actually being bad. Performance is another thing. I think the standards for measuring a "good" performance are pretty clear and widely accepted.
Maybe not.
I don't really understand the need for "negative" threads.
But, that's just me I guess.
Who are you thinking of in particular?I agree with you for the most part but there are quite a few people that are considered "legends" with a career full of live, and some studio performances, that those standards don't seem to apply to.
I knew that was coming next but I'm not getting into that because I don't want to insult anyone or trash their heroes.Who are you thinking of in particular?
