$how your bargain bass buys!

This bass is one big bargain made up of bargains.
The Bass:
This is a '01 Warwick Corvette Proline. I got this for free from a friend in High school. It was in a basement for a couple years and he found out I played bass and gifted it to me. It isn't perfect but I love it
Electonics:
I got a set of Seyour Duncan AJJ-1 Active EQ jazz pickups. These were discontinued and I got the set for 45 bucks off of my friend. Each pickup has 3 little switches that change the EQ of the pickups. Very versatile and we'll worth the cash.
The preamp is an EMG BTS and I got this from a bass I received in a trade. The Bass I originally traded was free so the preamp was also :)
The Tuners:
These are a set of 70's Grover Wavy Titans. The same ones B.C Rich used back in the day. I got these for 25 bucks.
So this bass is made from stuff I got either dirt cheap, or free, and it is my #1. It is my first real bass (2nd I've owned) and I traded it once and got it back after I regretted it. It's my Mutt and I love her

There's some really good buys in here... but I wonder if anyone can top this? A 1983 Fender Precision Elite I with EMG pups, a Schaller roller bridge, aftermarket tuners, pickguard was not original so I laminated it with figured maple. Price? 125$ CAD, so just under 100USD on that day. Buddy wanted less but I would have felt bad...
(Apologies for old cell phone pic!)

Yikes! He really needed to get rid of that beautiful P bass...were there any police sirens going in the area during your transaction?

I bought this 1968 Jazz in the early 90s for $100. I was told it had a broken truss rod. I put an inexpensive ESP neck on it and played it that way for about a dozen years. Then I took it to Mike Lull and he said the original neck had a ski jump on the end but the truss rod was fine. I spent several times the original price to have Mike fix it, but boy was it worth it!
