i was going throug my price range and my wants from an amp and cab (although i really dont know what ohm means) and i came up with this combo,

Ashdown MAG410T Deep Bass Cabinet (450 Watts, 4x10 in.)

Gallien-Krueger Backline 600 Bass Head

now given the wattage of each piece, and the ohm thing, whats the maximum wattage i can get?

300 watts. It wont be clean headroom though.

Usable watts - id guess between 200 and 250.

what does "Clean headroom" mean?

and wow, all that money and i get all those lost watts.

if you want the ashdown cab, get the ashdown head that will match wattage or vice versa with the GK. once you learn more about matching heads and cabs from different companies and what works, then you can do it. but for now, i would suggest sticking with the same company for the head and cab. after all, they were designed together to be played together.

in actual fact, you might be better of with Invalid Link Removed...

Cheap! Although personnaly, I would go for separate head and cab. Same price. Ashdown are the bomb apparently, although I never tried one.

By clean headroom, means that you will have to push your amp to get enough power to play in a band, that will possibly cause distortion. With more watts, you don't have to push so hard and you get a better response. But really, for that price....

iv actually had my eye on that one for a while, just thought it would be easier to transfer a seperate head and cab then one large combo.


but now my choices are between that combo and

the cab i posted and this head that "surrendermonkey" posted
