HT112 v. T112 v. GS112 v. Wizzy

Look like I've found an Epi 112 that is about 6 years old for a good price...I may jump on it. Are there any major differences between the newer and older Epifanis? Thanks

while I'm (currently) a happy Aggie user, I'm going to toss in a nod for the GKNEO112. If I had two of these, I wouldnt have opted for a great deal on the pair of used Aggies.

The GK is fatter and has better mids than the Aggie. Overall a more aggressive brighter and versatile tone. The high end is much more like an Epifani where the Aggie horn sounds remeniscent of the Eden vibe.

With the passive cross-over engaged, its real bright. When used with the GK bi-amp heads, the GKNEO112 its more clean and hi-fi sounding, probably a result of being crossed over at a higher freq.

The gK is cheaper if thats a factor.

I do jazz gigs, theater gigs (outdoors and in auditoriums and theaters of all sizes), rehearsals, you name it. What I don't play are rock or pop gigs. When I used to do pop gigs I'd bring my EX for support.

yeah, for rock i don't think a 12" covers it.

My HT/EX will easilly fill a sm/med room, as did my Aggie 112's. I am really diggin' the Bergs. Their voicing just cuts better in my band situation than the Aggies did.

+1. I play in a wedding band that does everything from Top 40/R&B/Funk to Big Band and 1 12" never did cut it for me. 1 15" does! The 15" also sounds better in my small/rehearsal/church gigs.

I'm thinking about a 112 in order to get more low end from my current setup: iAmp 800 into VL110/208. I like the tight low end from this setup, but need some more beef and spread with the B string; so I'm not really looking for a stand-alone cab. I do need something under 40 lbs for portability.

One thing I noticed with the VL-110 and VL-208 is that when you added a third cab, the lows (especially low B) reproduction) improved dramatically. If possible, try a third VL-series cab.

I missed out on a 110 that TBer had for sale b/c didn't have the cash to spare at the time; one on the bay too. I'm really trying to hold off for a bigger piece of equipment, but need some low-phat reinforcement in the meantime.

In lieu of a VL110 popping up, what would be the recommendations from the 112s in this thread; or elsewhere?

I haven't really tried this (using another brand 1x12, but I recall somebody using a Bag End 1x12 with a VL-208 or VL-110 (and they are about the same size).

Yeah, thanks Sean. The more I listen to the 208/110, the more I think the bottom is covered. I love this rig! Of course, I'll have to pick up another VL110 if one pops up...just to try out Tom's theory for myself.

I'm taken back by how many of you guys have great ears.
Very articulate observations. I'm begining to think ignorance
is bliss. I have three of these boxes at the moment. (112UL,
HT112, Wizzy) I'm continually rotating the boxes depending
on the room, the volume, instrument, music. It would be very
simple to have one box I really like, and just use it for all
small to medium gigs, but nooo. I have to be torn between
at least three different boxes for many similar gigs. Which
has the highs, the lows, the booty, body, mids, cut-ability,
focus. Its all just too much for me. I give up! I'm done!

Oh. Does anyone know when the new Euphonic 2x8 box is
coming out? I'm feeling a little anxious.
