It was epic. You really should read the whole thing. You really won't have an appreciation for how this unfolded.
Although someone else may be better at summarizing this better than I.

My eyes are still red (from the thread AND the wine ) but I wonder if the other TB member (sorry can't recall his name) that lost his Cirrus to this clown will be returned also?

I am happy you got this resolved and will be getting your bass back, but wow, the audacity of these people to call it an honest mistake. He has done it to multiple people as well as pretending he was going to send a Dingwall, OP should be getting that Dingwall and not his Clement if you ask me, otherwise he is a scam artist.

This kid is a cold calculated scam artist, who deserves some fraud charges, I hope Dharma does follow through with pressing charges.

I also cannot believe these people would want a dirty scam artist in their band, unless they themselves are dirty scam artists.

Wow! This is an amazing and terrible thread. I am glad that you are getting you bass back however you and everyone else that this Evan guy scammed need to file a police report. This guy will not stop until he is stopped. I would also make complaints to UPS (they have investigators) or whoever was used to ship advising them that this guy is using the service to promote fraud and illegal activity.

This site works on the honor system. Those who abuse the system need to be remedied.

Ok, so I read through most of the 720+ posts last night and I was able to conclude three things:

1) the TB community is a force to be reckoned with - similar to the Matrix, we have the power seek out Agent Smith no matter what his disguise...

2) no one's information is private - there is a paper trail - or in this case, an electronic trail (thanks to A-step and his extensive PayPal database) that will aid in tracking down fraudulent activity... And,

3) all y'all bass players got WAY too much free time! This was a Friday night, forcryingoutloud! You shoulda been gigging! I was playing my club gig (which was awesome btw), and I'd come back to the thread on my break and ten more pages popped up!

Gosh!

Well, I hope that all parties involved in this fracus get exactly what they deserve - for better or worse.

They even stated that TB started a "witch hunt". They state that this was not a scam, a huge misunderstanding and a mistake was made (albeit 3 times). Seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot on this one.

Quite frankly, everyone here knows that this kid was running a scam. The Police should be involved from this point on.

At this point, the "band" (and I use that term EXTREMELY loosely) is merely using this as a PR tool in their favor.

Let the cops do their jobs and arrest this clown kid.
