I know that this topic was covered a few months ago, but all of the opinions were a little vague- not many had really had a chance to play them. Anyway, here's the score. I like a deep, warm, organic tone- a tone that can be overdriven and still be warm with a lot of low end.
Anyway, I found the Hughes & Kettner QT 600 for $400- that's a tough price to beat, but I don't have a lot of experience with their gear, so I'm not sure if I should jump on it. Is there anything else remotely in that price range that can get that sound- the only other amps that I know of are all tube heads and are insanely overpriced.
