The advertising is getting REALLY intrusive 'round here. Many times while typing a response to a thread an ad will change and anything I type does not show up, even after repeated attempts.

These are pretty much all video ads and most can fill almost a 1/3 of a typical page.

Now this just happened? What's going on here?

What browser are you using? I've never seen this while on TB, ever. I use Edge, BTW.

EDIT: Maybe because I'm a Supporting Member? But I thought ad-free only applied to Gold Supporting Members.

Latest version of Safari. I rarely see ads anywhere else I surf to, but tons of them here, and as I mentioned above, they get very invasive and aggressive in how they "work" this platform.

Even when I was a SM (not Gold, though, can't afford it) I'd get all kinds of ads.

I don't have an issue with Chrome nor Firefox. I'm now a GM but when I was a SM I didn't have ads either. Only when I'd forget to log in did i have a problem. I do also run Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin browser extensions so possibly that also helps. I extremely dislike ads. I realize companies have to run advertisements and all that. Also, that advertising companies make huge money by creating those ads. But it's gotten to the point of UBER overkill. Ads ruined radio, TV, and now the internet as well.

I dislike the way ads on TV jack the volume through the roof. Now I see the same thing when ads come through on my smart phone. It's like the ads override my volume settings and blast through my speakers as loud as they can go. In order for that to happen the Manufacturers of these devices would have to let the advertisers know how to override the user's preset volume levels in order to jack the volume up high. That can only mean the manufacturers are getting paid by the advertisers to allow them to do that.

Someone seems to be giving the advertisers a lot of power on this website, too. The ads change size causing pages to jump up and down, and depending on what the ads are doing when they load they block my being able to post or at least they seem to temporarily disable or move the cursor to some other place than where I want it to be. This is all very strange and shows just how much power TB is allowing the advertisers to have.

Also, pelase try using the default theme and see if the ads are better.

I'll try and replicate the ad behavior you're seeing - I personally haven't experienced anything like what you're experiencing. More screenshots would be helpful as well, I'll forward those to our ad partner. They are very receptive to bad ad behavior reports.
The "moving targets" may be pretty impossible to screen-shot, but even this evening/late night the posts on a page jump up and down as the ads open and close, very annoying!

Are you running any additional software that could be injecting these? I’ve never seen anything like what you’re posting pics of, and I’m sure with hundreds of thousands of user sessions we’d have at least several other reports of this kind of behavior…

I cleared my cache and closed and reopened Safari and came back to TB hoping that would get rid of the problem. It did not. Before opening TB I went to a few other sites I frequent and this did not occur at any of them, so my assumption is the advertisers on TB are getting even more aggressive and intrusive that they have already been so.

Yes, I suppose I could find some way to find money to get a gold supporting membership that would not have any advertising, but that does not solve the aggressive/intrusive that is plaguing TB.
