Is he the one, the one, the one they call the seventh son?If I’m not mistaken he’s Mr. and Mrs. McCauley’s son.

I gad a good friend who worked for a large sound company that designed and installed complex sound systems in theatres and concert halls. they would play specific test music. The main designer/engineer could hear (or recognize) if there was a splice in the cables.Did a show in a relatively large venue last night, brought out a larger than normal stage rig to fill the room. A random guy mentions to me that I have a weird resonance at around 75hz…yeah, whatever..everyone’s an expert, ignored his advice, later my guitarist asks me, “dude, what we’re you and Tom MCcauley talking about?”
You must play a P bass HAAAA!!!! (this will be good for some negative remarks !)I have a weird resonance at around 75hz”
The way someone knows it's 75 Hz, and not 70 or 80? - it's possible (not guaranteed, but possible) that he noticed it was a D you were playing when the boom occurred (73.4ish Hz - 75 is between that and D sharp) - the guy may very well be musically literate, not just a good Pro Audio person. Some of us (OK, a lot of us) folks that have designed pro audio gear for a very long time are also musicians. You'd be surprised how many of us are lurking in various places - getting out and being exposed to (or participating in) the real world situations in which your gear is used is an integral part of doing a good job designing stuff.
75 Hz is in the area where it could easily be a room related resonance.
Or maybe, being he is a sound engineer, he has a spectrum analyzer phone app? I don't even know if these exist, but it seems within the realm of possibility.
My thought exactly. Coming up and telling you that your sound is off is something I expect of drunks and/or the population of TGP. Actually having constructive feedback on how to resolve something is different completely.Ok, so the guy knows about sound. What were you supposed to do with that feedback anyway? “Weird” isn't very specific, or helpful for fixing it.
Go turn some 75hz down hahaOk, so the guy knows about sound. What were you supposed to do with that feedback anyway? “Weird” isn't very specific, or helpful for fixing it.
Notch out 75hz and turn it down some? Seems like the simplest fix, if you have the tech onboard to do it.Ok, so the guy knows about sound. What were you supposed to do with that feedback anyway? “Weird” isn't very specific, or helpful for fixing it.
