the newer version - prince II - is reviewed (briefly) here http://www.musicradar.com/tuition/guitars/round-up-4-retro-bass-guitars-240168/8#content - and seems to fair well enough.

but it is the older model i am looking at - been offered one for less than £200. The prince II seems to sell for between £400 and £550 but is equiped with entwistle pickup versus the artec's on the older model.

what i've managed to find out is that they are another UK (essex) based manufacturer from the 60's that has been resurrected and are now produced in Korea.

I have a Hutchins telecaster style bass. It's solidly made, although it does suffer from neck dive due to the body shape. I reckon that Prince probably wouldn't have this problem though. Mine isn't a bass I'd use every day- my P copy just feels better to play imo- but it's still good fun and it looks awesome. :)

If you live near Eastbourne in Sussex you can ask to play it before you buy- that's what I did. They're very friendly- I even got to see a few rare models and prototypes too! :P
