I like pearloid pickguards. They don't have to be white. When I changed out the pickguard on my Fender Sting artist, I was looking for a look that had a retro country look. I originally wanted tort, but anything with red looked bad against the 2-color sunburst. I ended up with ashtrays and an aged cream pearloid.
