Also, if anyone sees a spam post that gets through, please just report. One of the great new features of the new software is an updated spam cleaner that works much more quickly than before. I zapped a reported spam account completely between sips of coffee this morning.

I get notifications if someone likes my post or if they respond to my post, but for watched threads I just pay attention to the red dots in front of the thread title. That seems to be the only notification we get for that.

I feel the same as others have stated . . . "something is off" . . . "the magic is gone" . . . "like when your favorite local business get's sold and is now 'Under New Management' and it's just not the same anymore"

So what I am seeing is, on my phone I hit the hamburger. It produces a drop down menu. That looks like this…

From there I can navigate to my Watched threads or anywhere else I wanna look at.

By clicking on my Avatar at the top right, I get another drop down menu showing the threads I’ve participated in recently and likes or quotes of my posts…

Other than that, that’s all I got so far.

Agreed. I don't see what all the fuss is about. Things are a little different, but not worse. We'll get used to it with time.

What hamburger? I'm on a Mac computer using Safari, I don't see anything that looks like a hamburger.

So, your main complaints are:
1. the transition was messy, and some posts were lost/deleted - understandably frustrating, but really is this a big deal after a full system update? it happened once and probably will never happen again.
2. its harder to navigate according to you. - Well according to me as well as others is very much the same if not easier and more intuitive to 2024 advancements. I have never been able to surf so many different topics and see so many posts as I am now. The old TB you had to go to each section, pick what forum or thread, and wade through the mud to see whats new and whats hot. Now, im shown hot, trending, new threads and posts and CAN STILL wade through the muck like before. Way more options now and way more visibility on the whole site. so who's right here? Also, this fits in nicely to my statement in my original post you ignored: "When you first found talkbass you learned to use it without a complaint, but now that its changed its impossible to learn again?" I'd argue it's not harder to navigate, its DIFFERENT, so learn just like you did the first time you came here and in 1 day you'll forget what you complained about.
3. they changed the name of reactions? really? this is a big problem that's causing you to not like the site as much? it used to be all different things, now its REACTED with LIKED COMMENT. so, they again simplified and streamlined.
Like I said in the beginning, it's the same site with the same content, you just don't want to learn or try!

I'm 74 and don't have a bit of a problem with the change. What does age have to do with anything, you're the type that can't stand change, I know young people who are that way too.

I've been listening to "My Back Pages" about every day now as a booster.

I find it so interesting, after having three young daughters, how we raise our children to be just like us,
in many ways, many instances, telling them what they can and can't do.

Boundaries are important, but there is a fine line
and can prevent people from reaching their potential.

I believe I can show my kids how to do just about anything, not because
*I know how to do them, because THEY know how.

One of those old philosophers said: "we already know, we just have to remember."

So much of life spent being in conflict with any given challenge, at a very high cost.
