Ok, so it's not earth shattering. But you should have seen it before. It had deteriorated into a ...just a big pile of stuff. None of it even plugged in or in any usable shape. What's your practice area like?

I'm about to build a new music are a desk to try to incorporate all of the gear into a smaller bundle, a bit like some of the audio workstation type desks. I'm working on the ergonomics of it so that it allows me to plug, play, mix and record everything I see me using in the near future, display sheet music, notebooks etc and a whiteboard. Up until a couple of weeks ago it was a tangle and maze and it made it difficult to just sit down and study so in the interim it's reduced to;
- my computer work desk with a tabletop music stand
- instrument stand with 1 bass and 1 guitar (the others are in another room)
- a small combo amp and tuner
- a nice ergonomic kneeling chair
There's a PC here with it's own speakers so I have playback from my server or online to play with.

Nice! Reminds me of my desk. This isn't a recording desk, it's my desk at work. I often do video editing on it. The light is only ever on for zoom calls.

I won't derail your thread, but I want my space to eventually be able to have room for multiple sheets of music, notebooks, textbooks or folders where I store a lot of my music, be able to practice and record bass, guitar and keyboard (keyboard on a sliding subdesk a la Adam Neely) and to not really have to adjust much to do any of these things. I also need a mic and camera as one of the girls who I sometimes gig with travels a lot for business and I need to be able to record, Skype and replay stuff she's recorded for me. Plus have it all neat as that end of the living room is the social area and the other contains the 2ch/HT area.

Not big on Zoom after a certain CNN staffer's mishap, but I'll still have a lamp.

I'll post a thread on my new area when I build it. I think I have it all figured out and configured so it can do it all and be as neat as a pro studio control room, plus a bit of extra capacity in case a few of us want to get together and record.

PS is that a Katana? How do you like it? Thinking about getting one

Yes, it's the 50w Mk II Boss Katana. I just call mine Bo-Katan. There's even a picture of her on the side. It's great. I don't actually play that much guitar so I've never gigged it or anything. I just have it around to make rock 'n roll sounds with the Ibanez SA160FM. I think the preset amp sounds are excellent and of course the effects are Boss so they're good, too.

We became full-time RVers when I retired a few years ago, and most of my bass gear is in storage. I long for the day when I can have a music room again. :)

I’ve ruined any chances of having a meat music room by taking up drums again. All I wanted was a little Ringo set, And now I’ve got way more drums than I would ever need, and I still have to get my Ringo set. But I do have a couple Ludwig drums on the way for that. And then I’m going to stop. You believe me, don’t you?
