I don't care what you haters say!

Like you said, haters gonna hate, and... I still don't see it. It's an ugly model to me, but congrats on your new instrument! :)

Maybe one day I'll see it... I've found many fugly basses before that now are very appealing to my eyes! But Bongos are still the only MM's I would not like to own.

5 years ago I didn't like the bongo at all, but since I played that outstanding instrument...
I just don't understand why they only have rosewood available. This thing in maple would be killer!

Playing a bongo makes a HUGE difference in liking them or not. Before playing one, I slammed them too. Made the toilet seat comment regularly. Then I saw a guy play one and thought, "man that doesn't look so awkward." Then I played one and thought, "I have to have this bass."

More manly, for sure. At least it doesn't say "Lyte" on the headstock.

Haha! You know I'm giving you a hard time. :D

I think they look cool...but not sexy. I think my flamed maple Ibanez SR1200 is dead sexay...all slim and slender with those subtle contours...ahem, sorry.
But that Bongo is like all bold an brash and dosent care what people say about its funky shape, its doin its own thing man, with it painted burgundy neck with its pearl pick guard and black hardware...its cool!

I've had several Ibanez basses and no one has ever mentioned liking them. I'm telling you, no bass has gotten the attention this one has. Chicks dig the Bongo and I find that hilarious since guys are always hatin' on it. haha!

Well, I not really into the looks of the Bongo, but I appreciate EBMM to do something totally different. And I like that you don't care what others say. I bet the Bongo has a great sound though. And I really like the other EBMM that looks different, the Big Al, which has probably as many "haters".

The best sound that I've ever heard a bass make. :)

Looks great man! Love it! WhenI get in position for a new bass that's one I'm looking at. I love the different shape to it!

You won't regret it brother!

Have you played one? If not, you should.

LOVE Bongos :) They are sooo much fun to play, I think they make you play a little longer each time you pick them up. Fantastic basses, everyone should have one!

And that red one is great looking, congrats again on grabbing her!

Don't get me started on the Big Al. Sounds like it should be a pizza joint or something, and when you see the bass after hearing the name you are left equally baffled by the dissonance.

Only if you don't know it's the bass version of the Albert Lee guitar (so it's bigger, of course).

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

I have to say that color combo looks pretty good...compared to the others I've seen.

I agree. A Bongo looks best with flashy/bright colors.

I just can't get over how ugly that bass is. Even if it played and sounded like a dream (I've never tried one so I don't know) I don't know if I could get over the look.

I'm sorry you're going to miss out on greatness. :)

I've become addicted to MM Oil/Wax necks... if not for that I'd already own a Bongo.

So... next step for me will be an HH Reflex (4-band bongo preamp, and the dual H pickups)

I do love the Oil/Wax necks, but this satin feels like home too. I really enjoy it!

I enjoyed the heck out of my 4 string Bongo, had to sell it for financial reasons though. Great basses, just wish the 5'ers didn't have such narrow spacing!

I have come to like narrower spacing. For what I do (yes, I am a big guy with big fingers) it works perfectly. I always thought I needed 19mm but 17.5 works NICELY!
