But different strokes for different folks. Everybody had bolts they don't like.
How about this one? My Squire Jaguar medium scale. Plain black body, no pickguard, upgraded pickup, electronics and bridge with a maple neck that's been refinished with tinted Amber lacquer.
Thanks. With the wiring options available with the Delano pickup that little micro switch transforms this bass from no place to show place instantaneously. Right now it's wired for series in the first position. the middle position of the switch is single coil using the front coil only and the rear position is parallel mode. It's my first time ever using one of Delano's pickups and I am super impressed. IMO The stock ceramic magnet MM style pickup keeps these bases from sounding as good as they're capable of sounding
When I bought it brand new I only paid $169 for it. It's an affinity H series. Or I should say it *was* an affinity H series. The mods have elevated it far beyond that now. I have the pickguard for it here someplace it's a BWB guard. When I removed the PG and saw that it didn't have any CNC locating holes or routing channels for the wiring I decided to go for the naked look. I think the thing that really sets it off and makes it look way above its price point is the fact that the neck has been tinted Amber. It just adds a whole another dimension to the overall look of the bass. I'm a huge fan of Black 'n' Maple basses.
Thanks I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. I've been having some severe issues with age related arthritis in my thumbs. That has caused me some difficulties with stretching my hand to get the reach I need. in fact I have been moving to medium and short scale bass guitars to compensate for that. This one being a medium scale is pretty easy for me to play. I also have a couple short scales as well.
Yeah, I understand, you should see what my pinky on fretting hand looks like! Pretty bad arthritis in last joint, swells up too. Some days it bothers me, some days once I'm warmed up it's not a factor. I had thumb issues too on that hand then got a tip from JazzNfunk to take the thumb off the back of neck and just use upper body, shoulder and upper arm, to apply fretting pressure. I removed the tension from my hand and the thumb became a non-factor. I still put it at back of neck but no pressure on it. If I find I'm using pressure I take it entirely off until I get used to doing it without thumb. Give it a try, perhaps it will help?
