It's simply a nod to the color schemes from the original single coil 50's Previsions. Look up pictures of early rockers back then and you see them with white pickguards, and often the butterscotch ones with black guards.
No need to be so negative, to each their own. I think it looks good. I would never denigrate a color choice you make.

I vote gold for sunburst. And the fact that it's anodized brushed aluminum is a plus. It's the way the bass came when I got it. The original pg is stored in the case, and yep, it's white.
Why not? Plenty of people like it and happily rock it. Why try to put down those that like something that you dont, particularly a aesthetic design choice on an item like a bass?
When I see posts like this I always ponder why the poster doesn’t contact the manufacturer which in this case is Fender. They might hang up but it’s worth a try.
I think it’s to make it look clean for sterilization and stuff.

Regardless of color, I never got those pickguards. Nice finish and half the bass covered. Sorry, not for me at all.

Looks fine to me. There’s nothing wrong with a little contrast on stage.
Look at the name it's a Paranormal Bass.
If it covered a bit more under the neck pickup, it would look semi- normal.

As a colour combo, that is not offensive imv.
