Someone had a good practice day or gig. It's the best feeling you can give yourself with two hands without having to clean up afterwards.

In a band I used to play with, at rehearsal the guitarist asked if I wanted to switch instruments for a song or 2 (I played guitar for a couple years before realizing bass rules).

It was fun but I really missed the feeling of my bass guitar filling the room like 10,000 gallons of warm water. When I stuck that first chord on that Gibson Les Paul, it was just empty. I couldn't wait to get my 4-string sling back over my shoulder!

Yeah, I love playing bass.

Just finished final rehearsal for a show tomorrow. My second ever on bass.

I feel pretty amazing right now.

Sadly and ashamedly I treated playing bass as a "job" for around 10 to 15 years and that was gigging nearly every weekend. ( I was lucky to be part of a hard working popular covers band and I'm still gigging with the same drummer and guitard to this day 26 years later ) I would put my bass in its case on saturday night after the gig and not get it out until the next friday.
It was a job that paid bills and I had 3 young boys growing up. I also worked 40 hours a week as a mechanic and still do.

I came real close to quitting around 5 years ago as I was bored and musically burnt out.
Don't know what made me do it but I joined an originals band on the side just for laughs,bought some new gear,invented and played my own bass lines and became totally addicted !!!
The love and joy of playing bass has become a drug that keeps me alive and so glad I didn't quit.

I can now say from my heart " I freakin love playing bass" too

I spent many frustrating years trying to play guitar. It just never clicked for me. Picked up a bass for the first time a few months ago and thought "Holy crap, this is FUN!!!"

Sure wish I had discovered this simple truth 20 years ago.
