personally I never liked blocks, Always preferred the elegant simplicity of dots, but that's what make the world go round, enjoy it!I put block stickers on my Donner P. The Fender has dots but honestly if I came across the right neck with real blocks I'd put it on my Fender. Especially if it's got a rosewood fingerboard. That's the only time I prefer rosewood too.

It's all good! An instrument is our personal tool so it should look, sound, and feel the way we want it. That's all that matters.personally I never liked blocks, Always preferred the elegant simplicity of dots, but that's what make the world go round, enjoy it!
I would LOVE an active/passive with sweepable mid. I think you just gave me my next upgrade! You're not alone on this. I love that P tone, but prefer the slimmer J neck. I'm currently saving up to build my dream Bass because Fender doesn't build one exactly like I want. I want a quilt Maple top with no pickguard, string through, 18v active/passive with sweepable mid, PJ pickup configuration, although I may never use the bridge pickup. But I may change my mind one day, so I want it there.
