I get a lesson w/ Rodney Whitaker

Background: My school, Northview High School has a jazz band, which I play bass in. Every year we take part in the Essentially Ellington program, which is a competition between jazz bands where we all get several Ellington pieces to work up. We usually have clinics where some local guys come in to work with us. Well the bass player this year happens to be Rodney Whitaker and I get to take a private lesson from him maybe around a week from now. I'll let you guys know how it goes and maybe fill you in on some advice he gives me. I'm extremely excited and extremely nervous; I just hope I'll actually be able to play around him without getting my hands all jumbled.
