First, a USA made Peavey is always a good bass, no matter what the cost (within reason) But a free USA Peavey? Well then that's just the deal of the century!
For free I'd expect a neck bowed so much the bass would double as a bow and arrow set...or have no headstock or something, but a perfectly fine, functioning bass that would probably sell in the 3 to 400 dollar range?
I feel so inadequate right now....

And now for some unsolicited advice. I don't know where this is coming from really, but something tells me you shouldn't do any mods to this bass. Clean it, set it up, and play it, but leave it stock.
