I got my Xotic XJpro. OMG!!!

For starters I'm 63 and have been playing bass forever. Funk, Latin Jazz,R&B, is my favorite but I can pretty much play anything at least halfway decent.
Marcus has been my main guy ever since Lenny Whites Streamline came out. Thats a long tome ago. Over the years I have been chasing "That Tone" ( Marcus, John Pena, Alex Al) getting really close, sometimes I thought I had it but really never totally got there.
I'm a Youtube addict and never once have I heard a clip with an Xotic bass that I didn't love. So a bunch of unexpected gigs fell into my lap and i decided to use that money to get an Xotic Ash Maple XJ pro. Today was the day when it arrived and I'm still trying to pick up my jaw off the floor. I'm practically stunned. They sent me a bass that played perfectly, no adjustment necessary( and I'm picky and I know setups), It is so comfortable as if I had owned it for 30 years. I'm kind of crazy about wanting to mod everything I own. On this bass the only thing I could think of changing (and I did it already) was the silver knobs. They have no lines, I need to be able to see where I have my setting before i play a note. The knobs, that's it.
When I plugged it into my Markbass head I immediately liked the sound but something was not quite right. I remebered I had the Markbass EQ set up for one of my other J basses.Just a few tiny tweaks nothing drastic. So I set everything flat and there it was, The Tone I have been wanting all my life.
I am completely floored. I had not expected this to turn out so well, but it did.
Thank you Xotic, your basses really have the major Mojo :)
Now I need to decide what to do with my bass collection. A few of the will stay but most of the will have to go to a new home....

No reason to get snippy bud. You’ve been here long enough to know ya gotta post a pic when you get a new bass. Btw, yes I know what Xotic basses look like. But we wanna see yours. That’s half the fun of this place is lookin at everyone’s sweet axes and rigs.

Wonderful instrument!

Yeah, any time around here at all and you’d realize that “POIDH” is standard fair when posting about newly-acquired basses. I can’t imagine getting upset about much of anything with that bass in your hands. Now you know.

And enjoy that awesome bass! Congrats!

It is great to know your Xotic XJ Pro has really nailed the tone you want. I hope you get to play it at a bunch of great gigs!:bassist:

I forgot to mention, I bought this bass after seeing just one little picture of it at a reduced price as B Stock. I expected some flaws or minor damage, But I cannot find anything wrong or damaged on that bass, no nicks no scratches, nothing.
So anybody who is on the fence about buying a B stock bass from Xotic, my experience has been absolutely great.

Sorry I was just so exited about that bass I wanted to share that right away. That comment kind of made feel bad.I probably over reacted
