I got my Xotic XJpro. OMG!!!

Just wanted to say thx to Gimmeagig for starting this thread. I bought a used XJIT 5 LIGHTWEIGHT about a year ago. I sold it to fund another
project and immediately regretted it. I even asked the buyer to give me 1st dibs if he decided to sell it. I had been thinking of a used xj5pro but
never see them in classified. After reading Gimmeagig's raving review, I checked the Reverb store for Xotic. Just so happened they were having
a 20% off sale until Oct 1 on b-stock and they had 3 available. I grabbed the blue one. I've had it for a day and can tell you it's every bit as good
as the much more expensive Japanese XJIT. I haven't weighed it but definately under 10 lbs. Set up perfectly out of the box.
If you are considering one, last I checked they still have a white one, and a sunburst, both 5'ers. Free shipping and 7 day return policy!
When I play this bass and think that I payed a little over a grand, it blows my mind. Best deal I've had in a long time! I still can't find the flaw that
made it b stock. I'm having some tech problem downloading a pic or I would post it. Maybe later.

You are in error to admonish Element Zero for speaking truth in the spirit of brotherhood. Element Zero is indisputably correct! Mind your P's and Q's. Accept advice graciously.

I can never leave well enough alone, I just like to tinker with my basses. I can't help myself :)
I never liked the look of the Hipshot B style bridge. So I bought a " Fender Mount" A style brass bridge from Hipshot. I was able to install that without having to drill new holes. But once installed something seemed wrong. I had to raise the saddles up a whole lot to get the action high enough so the bass wouldn't buzz. Way higher than on any of my other basses that have the A style bridge. So I took off the neck and sure enough there was a shim. I removed that and now I could bring the saddles down to how they should be. The bass plays and sounds even better than it did before and the strings are a little closer to the body which feels better to me. I don't know why they shimmed it at the shop, it sure didn't need it. The new bigger strap buttons are better than what was on there before. The knobs are from Sadowski. I like the lines.
Oh yeah and I also did 5 coats of true oil on the fretboard. The bass sounds a little zingier now. I thought it was perfect before but now I like it even more.

I like to have lines on my knobs to see my settings on stage. You bought those from Sadowsky directly?
