Research shows that DST doesn't result in energy saving. Why do we still implement it? Don't mess up with time. Just make the normal working hours 8 to 4 during the summer. That would have the same effect as DST.

I think it's largely for tourism/commerce. An extra hour of light is an extra hour of being out and about spending money.
Then, why not implement DST on Black Friday and Christmas?
I hate DST too - down here during the summer sometimes the sun doesn't set til after 9 pm!

+1. As a guy who spends a good deal of evening time outside, having natural light is a huge benefit. 5 o'clock sunsets are a PITA.Why is that bad? The extra daylight is much more useful in the evening than the morning. I'd prefer to stay on DST all year round.
