I hate spiders...

I was at Dodgeball on sunday, peeing in my usual corner, and I guess my stream hit a web, I thought it was just a cobweb type web, until a hige black widow came into my vision, visibly angry. It just shook its fist at me as I finished up, and then went back into hiding. Later I had to pee again, so I purposely peed on its web. Lo & behold, it came out to yell at me again.

You made that up so you could say fail at the end.
Fail. Epic fail. Ugh!
..I'm actually laughing at myself now, but it was really stupid.

I was sitting in my lounge two nights ago, nursing a beer and playing some bass.

After a while I noticed in the corner of my eye a small object moving across the floor. I took a closer look and it was a large spider.
So I finished my beer and tried to use my glass to try and catch it. So I got up and went to move to where it was. Unfortunately I tripped over my own foot and ended up smacking my left arm off the floor and whacking my head.
I got up again with the glass and searched for the spider. I couldn't find it. Then I noticed that it was under the guardrail of the fireplace.

I began to dismantle the guardrail, only for a piece (made of bronze) to land across my hands. Owwww.

After all that, I admitted defeat and went back to my amp. It was as this point that my chihuahua came in, eating the spider.

I fail at spider catching.

Do dogs really eat spiders? I have owned a dog for the better part of my life and have never seen one eat a spider.

I've seen mine eat a daddy-long-legs (not actually a spider) and a few other bugs but never a spider. I imagine he would if he got the chance. In fact that's why we kept him away from the old shed when we cleaned it out. We knew there were Black Widows in there and didn't want him trying to eat one.

My favorite thing is when he eats butterflys or moths which we get quite a few of in my yard when the weather is warm. He'll chase them and every once and a while catch one in his mouth and then get this grossed out look on his face (I guess they taste terrible) and spit it out. Then he'll go chase another one. Fantastic.

Our dogs chase grasshoppers and bees like crazy. One of the dogs, when biting down on a bee, will bite down real quick, spit it out, and pick it up again. She then repeats this process 20 times until the bee is finally dead. Then she just spits it out and leaves it there.

I've seen a couple of my cats eat spiders like the large dead one in my earlier pics- they're big, like over 2" spread out. CHOMP, crunch. One of my cats exhibits some dog-like behavior- drinks from the toilet, likes to play in water(speinkler/hose, not quite swimming). He has never barfed on a bass.
