I think the number one issue people have with a cluttered look and everything is the Card View versus List View option near the top of the page. You probably will want List View, and then click "Set Default". The page will look a lot closer to the old page.

In preferences, third icon from the left, you can set your default page. Personally, I like "Hot". Sounds like it should be sexy pics, but unfortunately, no. Heh. Don't forget to click on "Save" at the bottom of the page.

Next up, select the pages that you want to filter for your default page and the default sorting order. I have "Bass Guitar" and "Industry News" selected and the default sort order of "Last post date" / "Descending". Then click "Save".

Those changes should get you close to the old layout, pic your preference of Dark or Light either in preferences or at the bottom of the page.

Next up is Alert preferences which is a major change from the old site. They are located in Preferences and I have turned off just about everything (there are a lot). No pop-ups, no Pushes. But those preferences are largely up to you.

Hope this helps!

I think the search functions for the Classifieds need to be fixed. Why is the search menu option at the bottom of the drop down?? Then it takes you to the advance search menu for the classifieds. Before you could easily navigate to them from the homepage. Same with the Forums search.

I don't see a "Card View versus List View option" near the top of the page anywhere on the screen.

Look for "Set Default" and just to the left of that (on both web and mobile) there are the two icons for list and card views. This is only on the main pages like "Hot". When you go into a forum there won't be an option for list / card as it show the posts individually there.

Another thing that helped in general (from my phone) was reducing the font size from medium (default) to small. It makes readability much better, for me. One example, the links at the bottom are on one line and don’t look as clumsy.
