I just signed on for a lesson with Gerald Veasley!

Next month, I'm excited about it. I also plan on going to his Bass Bootcamp if I can. Anyone ever meet him or go to the camp? I havn't had much instruction in the five years I've been playing so i hope to make the most of it!

Gerald is a great player should be a real enlightening experience. I would say to start writing questions down you'd like to ask or notes about playing things. Then a day or so before you go edit the list down and prioritize it. Take the list with you but let Gerald run the lesson, if you have time for questions or he asks for questions then you have a list ready. Also have a couple good tunes worked up to play so he can get an idea of where you're at. Having that stuff ready will help get the most out of the time you have with him. Also help you relax knowing you have stuff ready.

Have a great time and post afterwards how it went.

Great advice! I will do those things. I was thinking along the same lines last night. I have a month, and I've already looked into his teaching philosophy. I will post how it went and hopefully share insights revealed! Thanks for your interest and sound advice (no pun intended).

I went to the 2006 Bass Bootcamp. It was a great experience and Gerald is a very good guy and bassist. You'll learn a lot from him if you apply yourself.
