I can't help noticing that Gene wasn't the one who said that.STANLEY: One thing that's changed for us over the years is........ we're concerned with... making sure the song doesn't lose it's groove....

But I'm no Gene-hater. I saw KISS in the late 1970s, it was the most amazing spectacle I'd ever seen! And I just saw Gene on TV this morning. Gotta give him props for his longevity!
I'd love for Gene to be part of this site. My guess is that he would have to be paid very generously, or he wouldn't waste his time![]()
LOL. I met Gene Simmons in a club once. My friend's band was playing. They asked Gene if he wanted to sit in. He replied, "How much you gonna pay me?"
Seriously, if I could do as much as Gene Simmons has done with as little talent as Gene Simmons has, I'd be pretty cocky too.
Wouldn't you?
I don't think he's untalented at all. He's a better-than-average bass player who can keep time decently. He's a pretty good singer, too. And certainly his talent for promoting and elevating KISS to the global phenomenon he became bespeaks a very special talent. He's also quite intelligent and (though he wouldn't want you to know it) I suspect he's actually, deep down, a decent, caring human being.Seriously, if I could do as much as Gene Simmons has done with as little talent as Gene Simmons has, I'd be pretty cocky too.

LOL. Well this goes back to numerous other posts about playing talent vs. songwriting/being an entertainer.
I've known a few people that collected the dolls and all that stuff. To this day I've never purchased anything KISS related
I thought Gene Simmons was a fitness personality?
What do you get when you cross Gene SimmonsYou're thinking of Richard Simmons...

I've always considered GS an entertainer but never a bassist. He always sounds PO'd and insecure in interviews, like he's never gotten out of puberty.
He's a good bassist, but you make an intriguing point...I had hoped that he would have matured more as a human by now.
Getting facelifts, the goofy hair, and all the lying about his conquest and general disrespect towards women....it's very unbecoming of a man his age, even if you are a rockstar. Even now there is a thread about him wanting to sue anybody who has ever used p2p....I should sue him for the lack of quality of the majority of things his slaps Kiss's brand on for a buck.
I'll defend him as a bass player, and as a father, but yeah, there's room for some personal growth Gene.
