I like wood - all kinds: oak, walnut, knotty pine, aspen... I like the variations in grain, texture and color; as individual as fingerprints. The tonewoods used on expensive guitars are flat-out gorgeous, but the one that always gets my attention is spalted maple. Yes, I know it's partially rotted, and that the figuring is created by fungus, but still, I'm crazy about it. Am I nuts?
