I perfer the looks of a slant but I think a straight is a wee better for bass as it has a little more internal volume and the baffle board is different but I didn't have that much choice when this '68 fell into my lap . It's also not as great as say a Eden 4x10 but it is super cool and it gets the job done for me .

Simply not true. For me, two is too many. But that's subjective. 250 is way too many. That's a fact.

When it gets to the point that all you time for is changing litter boxes, enough is enough. Fortunately my basses are paper trained. I was going to vote "let the SO decide", but after seeing what a fiasco the game of hockey is now, I voted "unpossible". Even thought of writing a song about it. "To dream the unpossible dream..." Nah.

If you have 1 bass, you are either poor or manage fine with just one bass.
If you have 3 basses, you like to have more tools(4-string, 5-string, maybe a fretless).
If you have 3-10, you want to have even more versatility.
If you have more than 10, you are a bass collector.

Doesn't sound excessive to me, but I also have 18 basses, and 2 more on my wish list... The way I approach the "what bass do I gig" question is that I don't keep any basses I wouldn't gig - so, there is no wrong choice per se... But, sometimes the gig dictates which choice is the best one...

This is the key to success. To me, having multiples of the same bass is pointless. Different basses are great, but they all have to be very playable and sound good, otherwise there is no point finding space for it. When any bass you put your hand on is a winner, you are a winner too and you don't need to worry about which one to bring to a gig because you are going to kick ass and take names regardless
