I Miss The 2x15!

I've owned a Peavey (deep) 2X15 with black widows and a Mesa Boogie RoadReady 2X15. Both were EXCELLENT cabs (Mesa being a little better sounding but the Peavey was great). The Mesa was smaller but WAY heavier. The Peavey was just huge. They both just became too much of a PITA to haul around. I'm totally gassing for a Schroeder 1515+L though.....that thing looks amazing (on paper)!

I love the pants flapping tone of 2X15s....just not the size or weight.

I have a 2X12 Avatar with DeltaLFs. Love this cab....kinda a compromise between a 4X10 and a 2X15.

The Schroeder is a screaming beast. If the performance of my 1215BMF (1 12", 1 15", 1 adjustable tweeter, 44 REAL lbs) is any indication, the 2x15 cab is on its way back in a major way. It's nothing short of amazing how big and clear it sounds.

I must be the only guy who didn't bond with his Mesa Diesel 215 Road Ready. For me it had a little too much in the upper mids and was the heaviest cab I have owned. Mind you, it sure did cut through a mix and the other guys loved it. I once spent the first few numbers of a set desperately trying to adjust the amp EQ to get any sort of reasonable tone, only to glance down and find that I had left the front cover on, much to the amusement of my bandmates!:o

I resemble all these remarks. A 2X15, properly ported, was my gigging rig for years. The only reason I changed was that as I got more and different kind of gigs, I needed a more versatile cabinet. But I didn't completely forsake the 2X15 - now I use an SWR Triad, so I can still dial in that mid-bass punch when I need it. I also get the clarity of a 10, but without the shallowness that a lot of 10 cabs have.

Ah, a pet peeve of mine is seeing so many American flags displayed improperly in this country - EVEN BY THE PRESIDENT! Not that he would know any better, or even care...

As long as you're flying the American flag, the least you could do is fly it properly!

The blue starfield is always supposed to be in the UPPER LEFT, regardless of the orientation of the stripes.

The only time it's ever been mentioned to me is on TB, so I'm sorta thinking it's not a big deal....

Most people, even self proclaimed patriotic people, aren't very aware of flag etiquette. The only reason I know at all is from boy scouts when I was younger. One's not supposed to wear the flag as clothing, either.

Humorously enough, technically the flag patches on US army uniforms are backwards, too. So I don't think it matters too much.

Incorrect. The patch 'looks' backwards because people are so accustomed to seeing the blue star field on the upper left. However, the patch is reversed on uniforms for a reason: If a flag is mounted to a flagpole or guidon and being marched into battle or charging into a fight, the stars would be on the right as the wind was blowing the flag backwards.

Flag etiquette, sadly, is pretty much ignored in this country. Parades, sporting events, etc., are the most obvious examples of how the citizens have just been apathetic about what they should do.

Here's the best part: The flag n my cab? MADE IN CHINA. How's that for patriotic.

You know what would eliminate the improper flying? An symmetrical flag. Anyways, point is, I really don't think it's an issue, as I'm sure most people would agree. I just took my inspiration from these guys.

I might need to re-load my Acoustic 106 cabs with different 15's because the power of the Gallien Krueger 700RB II's might just bake the speakers in them pretty fast. If I need to re-load the Acoustic 106, what 15's would be good?
I am thinking JBL E-140's. I have read that those Kappa speakers have a LOT of low end but lack in the mids.

Any ideas?
