I miss the band implosion threads

I believed every bit of hardship, but in real life, nobody ever gets their comeuppance.

Edit: a bunch of stupid typos
Alright... well truth be told.... I may have bended the ending just a hair. We definitely played a super heavy reggae tune, and I called it 1. because I love reggae and 2. because eff that old d-bag. And he definitely left flipping me off after I ignored him while he was heckling me. But in hindsight I can't say for sure that he left during the reggae song.

To quote Tommy Lee Jones in No Country For Old Men, when asked "Is that a true story?": "Well, I don't know about the details, but it's true that it's a story."

Because the people that truly are drama free don't have to bother actively convincing people of it. It's just kind of self-evident.

Reminds me of the guy who picked me up hitchhiking once, who started every story with "I'm not a violent person, but..." and then would tell me another story about brutally beating the poopie out of someone from his days as a bouncer at a bar in a military base. This is why you never tell them where you're going, only what direction you're heading. "Welp, alright this is my stop here! Just needed to get a couple miles down the highway! Thanks!"

Man, I literally lol-ed when I got to the part about not being violent... That was pretty funny...

I'm actually wondering now, did the expression "jerkweasel" originate here at TalkBass? I don't recall seeing or hearing it anywhere else. And also, should it be a hyphenated word?

I'm really missing my bandmates. It's looking like a pretty bleak year for gigs. We're talking about a mid-Summer jam night.

I"m pretty sure I heard it on the Simpsons at some point.

Well I have not had a story along the lines of the topic since I was fired from the black metal band. But I did think of something creepy to do since it was a black metal band. Get into my band costume I still have and go to their practice pad on a sunday they are playing and stand across the street in the creepy costume and just stare at their room till one of them notices me. The might then try to hail me where I would ignore them. One they come out I'd pull put a bag with 30 pieces of silver and offer it to them to fire their bass player and have me rejoin the band.

It would put them in a black metal paradox tho I know they would have to decline. In days of old this stunt woud be the thing of black metal legends. Today I'd just be a creepy idiot to do it.

I had a band implosion right before the covid. Guitar player and bl were trying to piss each other off in silence for months. We were practicing at my place like two weeks before our biggest weekend of the year (st pats), and the bl lost it. They stayed arguing, and being non drama, I slipped into my kitchen to make a cocktail. When I came back, guitar player had quit and walked out. Bl was ranting, and I knew at that moment I had quit too. I told um two days later. I'm too old for that sh**. Why is it the people that always say they're anti drama, are the most drama?
So Anyway, maybe with cocktails DURING rehearsal, nobody quits.
Glad I'm not too old for a cocktail.

They're even better if someone has a flame thrower in the shed.

Those can be had for 500 bucks nowadays. I saw one in a local shop like this one.

Hi gln1955 :)

They are so entertaining and I miss them dearly. I need a fired drummer, a drunk obnoxious singer, anything.

:hyper::hyper::hyper:

Anyone care to dredge up an old band blowup story they'd like to share?

I have a new one! :D

hi Parzival :)

Sounds like a good start. Good luck and have fun!

The guitarist (Arthur) fires the drummer (Lancelot)

because he sleeps with the singer (Guinevere).

Maybe don't rehearse in Camelot! :D

greetings

I love to quote myself!
