I missed prom

I feel really awful. I dressed out, got my hair done, etc., but due to getting the wrong address and me leaving the address and my cell home, I missed an important milestone.

Did anyone miss prom? How can I cope?

I went to my high school's prom Sophomore and Junior year (I got in Sophomore years because an upperclassman girl asked me to go with her). I didn't go my Senior year, however, even though another girl asked me to it. Honestly, I've never cared much for dances. It was okay the other two years, but by then I knew I seriously wasn't missing out on much. If you've been to any other dance before then you more or less know what it's about; the only difference is it's fancier. If you've never been to any high school dance, however, then you might have missed out on a life opportunity. Is it a big one? Nah, but you definitely won't be going back in time and given another chance, either.

Don't worry about it. In the big picture of your life, and what is important... this is nothing. Missing your prom will be a funny story for later in life. That is about the extent of how it will change your life. Congrats for graduating. Have a great life.
Cheers.

Exactly how far away from home was said prom that you, upon realization, could not have went home, got your info and phone collected, and still made it?

I was rushed out of the house for college orientation. I was two hours away from home.I was going to call the school, but I was told that they got the address. Turns out to be wrong address.

My girlfriend was a junior in college and I was in high school so prom was out of the question but I focused on the positive!

Prom is like a grain of sand on the beach of life.

Now if you are female it does seem like a big deal, here's what you do: you just spend that much more on your wedding!

Well, I attended a school that did not have a prom. There were students from our school who had dates and attended the public school prom. Didn't really miss out on anything.

It's a "small" event that will be overshadowed by bigger and better things, hopefully.

I didn't go to my prom; went to the after party.
Then I had the opportunity to go again to another prom; still didn't go.

Ever been to a semi-formal? or ANYTHING you dress up for? That's all you "missed".
Plus you can't drink at prom, so who cares?
