Close. You're buying the BTB FOR Your Daughter. ...As an inspiration, a learning aid. A symbol of your SUPPORT for her musical endeavors.

Your dedication and sacrifice are SO commendable she'll probably let you play her newly acquired bass also.

That store has mostly lower priced Squiers and Ibanezs. A couple of Stingrays and a few others on consignment like an Allen Woody Epiphone and a Epi T-bird. Other than body shapes this one is the first substantially different bass I have held and messed with a little bit. The bridge and the through neck construction were a couple of things that really stood out besides the woods. That one is a charcoal grey one. Really cool bass, but I am going to hold off.

It's only a good value if it feels great to play it. I've never played one of those, but they look like they're designed to be really easy to play.

A bass that feels like "home" is worth more than its price. A good deal on a bass that doesn't isn't a good deal. Good luck!

There's no need to "earn" or "deserve" the bass. You thinking that your playing abilities could improve does not mean you are not "worthy" or have not "paid your dues".
If you can afford a bass and you will be happier for owning it, then that is reason enough.
If the bass plays great and inspires you to practice more, that's a huge bonus!

If you really like the way it plays, looks and (once you plug it in) how it sounds, then if it is a really great price you'd be mad not to pick it up (if finances permit it easily). As others have already said, you can always resell it with very little chance of losing any money and may even make a profit.

I own that very model, and for half off the price, I would absolutely get a second one.

Coming from playing mainly 4 string SRs, I found it a bit heavy, but loved the spacing between the strings, which has made the transition to playing with 5 way easier.

The only thing I didn't like was the Neutrik jack, which I found difficult to use, and it partially came off after a few months. No big deal though.

You can resist! I've had a 4l/day Dt Citrus sodas habit for years. Had to get off because store brands were out for 1.5 months and I ain't paying $5/day. After about 3 days after my last.. it was finally in stock.

And I didn't buy it. Man I could taste it already. But who knows when the next fix would be. I left with a coffee maker.

You can do it too!
