I've got about 2 TB of movies/TV shows on my ext. HDs.
I do use my older MBP to play a lot of large video and audio files, now it needs a new HD!
I want to keep most of them off my Macs, and I don't want to have to play them via the Mac after I import them back to it from this new device or my old ext. HDs.
I read a while back that Western Digital had such a device (I think), that not only stores the files, but also allows uninterrupted playback from the same device. Is this true?
Has anyone had any experience with any of these?
If something like this exists, are the features similar to those of iTunes: the ability to make large playlists to play from, and also contain a shuffle mode?
Is there a name for this type of device?
