I need aggressive, balls-out growly sounding strings!

dude, if you want some strings that will kick your butt, i suggest the ernie-ball cobalt power-slinkies. those things are no joke, mix those things in with anything and they are sure to steal the show. i use them in my metal band and they have the perfect mix of aggression and smooth playing, kinda like the sound Johnny Christ from A7X gets, it has a little bit of a "twang" if using a pick and serious punch when fingering and don't get me even started with the sound when slapped... get them seriously

It isn't the strings ... But you do need a fresh set of strings to sound good ... Some brands that are good are D'addario, DR, --->>> [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

What will give you the tone you are searching for is a 4 band Audere preamp.

Balls out? Growly? Aggressive? Rotos.

La Bella Hard Rockin' Steels and Blue Steels a close second.

+1 I use HRS and they are simply amazing and they have a great B string. They make my Warwick 5 and my American Deluxe Jazz 5 string come to life.
Another really aggressive set is the Dunlop Trujillo's. Those have some big balls. Check them out.

Elixir strings has that edgy, growly sound constantly for months (even a year). I use them exclusively since I bought the first set. EBS, D'Addario, Warwick, DR, Shaller - all the past.
Elixir strings are sad to be clanky, but IMHO it's not an issue until you have EQ in your amp.
Expensive? Yes. Durable? Yes. Bets cost/benefit ratio.
After some months the strigs become "hairy". No problem, the sound (SONG? ;)) remains the same.

And don't forget: CONSTANT sound. Once you set up your rig for the sound you can forget about it.
