I need new Frontman Stage Material

Only for gigs in your band's hometown:

Frontman: Good Evening Ladies, Gents and otherwise. It's really good to be here in...
[turns to other band members, but still on mic]
Frontman: Where are we tonight, again?
[Bandmate, off mic, tells frontman]
Frontman: Good to be in [name place], I used to live here in [name place].

Frontman: Wait ... I still do live here in [name place]. Well it's great to be here anyway. We hope you like this next number...

"Make sure you do like the leper gigolo and leave a tip."

"We'd like to acknowledge xxx and xxx, since the people that we really admire and respect couldn't make it"

Doesn't really pertain to today anymore, but worked in the past...
"We're really excited because we just scored a record deal. We're getting 11 albums from Columbia House for a penny"

"I got your free bird right here! Next one's a dollar"

Updated.

"Hey we have an announcement to make. We just got a record deal!"

Crowd goes nuts.....

"Yeah Jason over here (point to guitar player) was at a yard sale yesterday and scored 6 records for a buck so he gave us all one!"

I play a regular gig at a seniors meal site, so we do fake commercials.
Intro: Fresh from the sewers of New York City, after playing to sold out crowds of gators, turtles and assorted snakes and rats, BAND NAME,
Shout out to the location: this set is brought to by (site supervisors first name) Cafe, where the staff is friendly, and the vegetables are boiled.
At equipment adjustments,: Husbands, boy friends, does your significant other make homemade tortillas for you. That's a labor of love. Now show your love and buy them (your city) area tortillas. Available in different sizes, again buy them tortillas
Introducing a new song: The next tune is played in Ab, because four flats here saves you four flats out in the parking lot.
Since we know many of our listeners, we find song titles that include the names of some of the people (Lucille, Bobbi Mcgee, etc)
Good luck

when we get a waltz request, we often play 'lucille' as sung by kenny rogers. then the singer will announce: if your name is lucille, this is your lucky day. we are gonna play another song just..for...you! and then we launch 'lucille' as sung by little richard.

While playing for a tiny crowd, "You've been a great audient.

For our next gig at a Farmers Market where we play mostly for tips we're going to do our "Winter Fund Raising Event" where we do a take off of public radio pledge drives. We're going to work in jokes about the different vendors or at least mention them. I'll let you know how it works.

Some of my favourites I've seen/heard:

James Taylor (Santa Barbara County Bowl): Someone yelled out a request.
"Oh, man! That's from the 70s. I can't remember the 70s!" Picks up large set list.
"We know these songs..."

Peter Gabriel (Genesis Live): Odd single noise....
"That was an unaccompanied bass pedal solo by Michael Rutherford."

The Tubes (on many occasions):
All of them talking at once...Usually.
Fee Waybil: We're not going to play "White Punks On Dope" because I'm sick of it....[band begins playing it]
"Oh, no. Here we go." (Sings wonderfully)

Van Halen (1984 Donnington):
Dave Lee Roth....[stops band] "Hey man. That's not cool throwing sh** up here. But I know who you are, and after the show I'm going to **** your girlfiend!" [band flawlessly continues]

Dave Lee Roth...."We got to our hotel late last night. All night some girl was banging on my door, and yelling. In the end I said, '**** it!' and I let her out."

Richard Thompson:
"Your request was wonderful! Although, unlikely to be fulfilled."
"Yes, I love you too. But not that much."
"You haven't come for the hits- because I haven't had any" "This one brushed the lower reaches of the top 40 in 1974"

While playing for a tiny crowd, "You've been a great audient.

we are going to take a break from the music, to ask for donations to support this markets live music. For a five dollar donation, we put in gift of a garlic clove, a ten dollar donation gets you a pair of cucumbers, at the 25 dollar donation, a watermelon,

I like that ^.

"Coming up soon, we have the Limbo contest, so limber up on the dancefloor and get yourselves ready for the limbo contest."

Mention the limbo contest often at the beginning of the night, less so towards the end of the night, and not at all in the second half of the last set.

If somebody asks about it afterwards when you're packing up...

"Limbo contest? What limbo contest?"
