So, the new band that I had become a part of was sidelined by the departure of one of the members. We had nearly a full set of songs when he quit. We weren't sure what to do but, in the end, we decided to see how we were as a 4 piece, and it's gonna be okay. We have guitar, bass, drums and sax and three of us sing. I would like to have suggestions that a band with that format can play and not be missing a lot in the process. A song like "What you Need" by INXS is what I'm hoping for but any suggestions that you might have would be appreaciated.

Thanks!

This guy has some good ideas in this thread: New (potential) Band potential Song List...?

Not sure what genres you play or who your audience is. If you're looking at INXS contemporaries, Psychedelic Furs, Madness, Morphine, Huey Lewis, Men at Work, Roxy Music, Bob Seger, Mighty Bosstones, English Beat, Spandau Ballet, Blasters, Los Lobos, Oingo Boingo, pretty much all ska bands and countless others had dedicated sax players.

I have no idea if they are using pre-made sheet music, I'll ask my friend but he is in a group with three sax players and he's on trumpet, with the guitar, bass, drum standard... they play a lot of Blues mostly Blues but some classic rock songs.

They do a mix of jazz - I am unsure if they write their parts but it seems they are using some type of made sheet music for a rock band with woodwinds.
I'm sure if you look up also arrangements for rock band sax you can find it.

With that line up you will have to get creative around the sax parts, imv.

Define set lenght and then genre or music that stylistically suits the band.
I generally decide on genre and pick the guys to suit that.
You have those in place already so thats not so ideal, imv.

We play 80's, have male and female lead vox and a sax.
We kill on sit-downs with a banging last 40mins.
We play a beer fest this weekend and we've added
Time of our lives. Dirty Dancing
It takes two, Tina/Rod
but we are going to do latest trick by Dire Straits and then keep the tempo up.
We will still do Sade groove ballads, plus Street Life and you might Need Somebody.

I guess our style is known 80's but not the usual.

Hall & Oats
Steely Dan
