They feel like bridge cables because at 224 lbs of tension they are higher than most I play and high in general....I'm wondering if your neck has some kind of intonation issue. I have two Precisions strung with Chromes, one light set and one medium set. Tension is not an issue on either bass, at all. No reason why a medium set of Chromes should feel like bridge cables unless your set up is off (or you've got tiny hands).

I thought the blue label flats were discontinued last year and that these replace them.
What I really like is when run with the tone wide open they sound bright enough to cut and sound balanced and as you roll back you can go to a great clean and clear blues and country material. They do take a couple weeks to break in but then they can really last. Just my opinion. Everyone's taste is different. If you want give them another try!I dig pressurewounds, and Dr lo-Riders for that matter....I just thought they sounded best on a Jazz. This P-bass has upper/mid forward pickups, so a string with similar characteristics can be too much. I thought that of Super Brights great for a darker scooped Jazz...too much on this P bass.
I used to swear by Fender 9050l flats till I tried a set of DR Legends, very nice set of flats tension wise and break in nicely with an even string to string tone.I put DR flats on my CV Squire P a little while back. No need for me to change them now, ever.
