I never thought.....

My old man rocked up on the weekend, and knowing of my recent GAS for effects pedals, handed me Boss Metal Zone pedal that he had picked up from my brothers step son for a fiver, at a garage (yard) sale they were having.

I have recently been looking for a distortion/fuzz pedal, but personally can't stand metal in any form. However, I plugged the mofo in and was pleasantly surprised.

I can see how the tone can be used to for metal, but with the right adjustments, I can get a cool fuzz like tone that would be awesome for classic rock tracks.

At the end of the day, I look down and see a pedal on board that I would have never even tried; and in fact, in reality, know I could use this pedal on any given day. I guess the old say "never judge a book by it's cover" is still around for a reason. ;)

The metal zone gets a really bad rap by effects snobs but I tried one laying around my drummers house when we were recording as I needed a distorted intro... Really wasn't that bad.

Glad you found something that works for you!
