I Present the IdiotBox Effects's Blower Box

Good one KZR. Now you can do the low gain high gain with it! Sweet. I inquired at Matt about the second dist mod. He said he would rather construct a new pedal/box as opposed to ruining the etched ones that are already out there. I agree with him. It would still be pretty sweet to get it done as opposed to buying a whole other pedal. Maybe I can trade him! haha

Hmm I think I might have to inquire about this! If he can add a Feedback mod too then BOOM! bye bye RK.

I got mine in the mail yesterday. Still messing with the settings. I am new to effects (and bass for that matter). I am trying to dial in a distortion similar to Breed by Nirvana since we cover that song. Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

I would try bass at 1 oclock, gain around noon to 2 oclock, treble fully CCW (off) and output to the room. Control your treble with your basses onboard. Amp flat.

Yeah, that sounds about right. For what it's worth, I seem to use bass at 1 o'clock for pretty much all my low-mid gain settings. Any high gain settings depend on what you are going for but I usually like to keep it at least at 1. I really think that the two band EQ is one of the best features for a RAT clone.

Just had a quick play with a BDPG, slight touch of hair & plugged into the effects return, with the BB in front of it.

It took a little bit to dial it all in, but I can honestly say that this is the first distortion pedal I've used that has zero low end loss compared to the BDPG, while still keeping that high mid grind that cuts through so well.

It's only a matter of time before this pedal gets better known, it's simply the best Rat circuit OD I've heard.

Hell yeah hank. I completely agree that is simply one of the best rats around. And I've tried all the big ones out there. I still had my BDPG on my board when I first got my BB. Running them together was beastly for sure. The rusty box took it's place though. To me, it sounds even better now.

I imagine the RB sounds completely different to the BDOG when combined with the BB? I've been interested in a Rusty Box for years, same with the VT Bass.. trying to justify them to myself by saying its basically getting new amp sounds for a low price ha.

I'm really settling on a low-medium gain with the BB, which a surprise to me, as I traditionally prefer the gain cranked on Rats

Yes it does. In a different and good way though. Very clear and piercing yet pretty organic. Ilikeitalot.

I don't plan to sell my BDPG. I sold my first one off and sort of regretted it. I got a second one from a great dude here on TB, sir mjac, and I'm gonna hold onto it for a while. I'm not using it at the moment but I know I will again at some point.

I'm finding that I'm getting my favourite sounds by cranking the eq, both treble and bass between 2-3 o'clock, and keeping the gain around noon.

I'm still amazed by how much low-end you can add on this, and how clear and tight the bass remains. Love the frequency and cut of the treble too, really cuts through and it's never harsh!...

Must admit, really impressed by this, and I have high standards as far as RAT clones go! Feeding the TFR into it, and stacking it with my COG Knightfall, I have a tone that will kill people until they're dead from having been killed by it!
