I sense a trend

:roflmao: metal ... surf ...

I have a long-running desire to start a surf band that covers metal, so long ago I searched the Interwebs to A) see if it'd been done and B) if so, how did it sound? (I could imagine it, but aural "concrete" proof, c'est plus meilleur).

Totally worked for me. At one point I had a drummer interested, but couldn't find the right guitar player.

I don't follow any scene, but I guess it became a thing in 2014...

Oh, and BCA = Bass>Cable>Amp, which takes us back to the head of the thread, all cyclical like.

Ahh yeah, is it like those surveys in the effects section where they ask how many pedals you own and someone always has to chime in with none...

I have a gigantic pedal board with practically everything on it but for my next gig, I'm going to use my Zoom B3 double compression settings going through an Alembic SF-2 and two combos. I never got into a dirty sound and I tried getting subtle dirt with an overdrive but I was never satisfied with the sound. My Geddy Lee YYZ and Tech 21 Oxford are just gathering dust in the closet.
