I play mostly reggae and punk with my band... and im fortunate enough that they love a loud deep rumbling bass tone.

I've been using a kustom groovebass 1200 (which is not for sale) and i like it... im just bored with it. It has plenty of power and a great EQ so it will always be a good backup. (Which is why it aint for sale.)

I need something that can cover the dub and the punk tones, and push a avatar 212 and 410.

I havent amp shopped in a couple years so i am totally out of the loop.

And i wont play ampeg. Ethics.

You may want to try separate preamp and final. For instance I have a TL Audio 5051 Mono Valve Processor. Its a single channel preamp which has all the cool stuff including a parametric Equaliser (english spelling) and compressor. It will give almost endless tailoring. I may even play with it on my Ampegs just for fun (its in a radio system right now) Then you could drive any big final like a PEAVEY 1500 3500 etc. BOB

Ok you've stumped the panel. Enlighten me.

I don't like the fact that they moved all production to China and still want $1500 for an SVT.

If they don't want to pay American workers thats fine... But I'm not going to pay the same prices for outsourced products that are no where near the caliber of the American made.
