I want a Stingray 4 pickguard & control plate in a regular Stingray 5

So my favorite mind blowing color is Black Cherry Burst with matching headstock but the pickguard on the regular stingray 5 just ruins it.

I was wondering if there is a way to put a stingray 4 pickguard and chrome control plate in a stingray 5 without going to the classic series as they are not made in that color ?

I don't think there's one available. It would have to be fairly wide as the electronics cavity is not exactly a thin strip on the SR5.

It works on the Classic series because it's a 2-band pre-amp and doesn't have the 3-way switch.

Sterling 5 + a control plate? I imagine the control plate will fit just fine with the holes, it will just be unnecessarily sitting on the wood.

because of the extra routing for the 3 way switch your options are limited unfortunately
I thought the big pickguard on the 5 string Ray was ugly at first but after a while I do appreciate its looks

You could always have one made where the chrome piece is shaped like the control portion of the pg, then cut that piece of the pg off and have them fit together like on a J-Bass.

a far shot but you could try looking for a 20th anni. SR5 H and put a Classic SR5 PG and control plate (not sure if the standard plate would fit). the finish isn't the same one but it's in the same ballpark.
