Is there anyone over there that builds them like Nash does? Those are of the same quality IMO and $2k ish or even less used. Theres a local guy around here that does the same thing and they’re a little less…

I bet you could find someone to build you that with whatever pups you want for 1/3 the price.

The company I bought my relic P bass from can do it. They use Japanese body and neck blanks, with the corresponding nut wdoth of 42mm, but their paint jobs and setups are stellar.

Here's one from '62/'63 supposedly. It's only $1,200 U.S. and 50km from my home.

I'd rather get a '60s red, '60s speckled replica from Spitfire.

I say build your own. Fender never made them like this back in the 60's. The whole finish over a finish schtick is way over blown and it never happened in real life . I mean NEVER happened!. Why would a busy company like Fender even bother to try to risk refinishing a bass to a custom color when they knew exactly how to do it on a new body. This is how shops sold refinished basses as factory to newbies who don't know better or want to believe in the myth of the factory multi-finished bass. Bull SH*t. Do it yourself and save a bundle, or just do it right in the color you love and let it age gracefully.

I doubt that could be from the 60’s, at least not if it as from a bass that has been played, my 71 pick guard has been replaced three times, the bottom end where the jack is has broken repeatedly.

It looks right but I wouldn't better $1,200 on that. If it's real it came from a very low use and abuse situation.

At least try before you buy. It looks like it might have a "vintage" nut width. Those vintage Fender P-bass nut widths aren't for everyone!

And at THAT price you cab probably find (or order) a very similar looking bass for significantly less money, just as long as you don't need the Fender logo on the headstock...

Sonnemo would be my choice. They would make it for about half the price.
