Ibanez ATK series model differences

Im from the UK and was thinking of getting one of these as ive heard alot of good things but i really cant understand the difference between the models available here

Theres 3 that i can get in the UK, all have the same triple coil pickup (i dont think any retailer here sells the model with the jazz neck pu)
They are as follows
ATK 300 - This is the basic one i guess
ATK 310 - no clue at all how this is different to the 300 but it seems slightly more expensive
ATK 700 - I saw on these forums its just got a maple top which wouldnt make any tonal difference but its also got no pickguard and imo looks alot cheaper, seems to be a waste of around 60-70gbp extra over the other if thats all.

Anyone care to share any info on this, i could probably take a gamble and get a used MM SUB for the same price as a atk700 (400gbp)

The differences are pretty much cosmetic, the 300 has a maple fingerboard and translucent finishes, the 310 has a rosewood fingerboard and solid finishes, and the 700 has a maple fingerboard, no pickguard and the translucent finish and flamed maple top.

My advice would be to get the one you like the look of best, though personally I'd get the MM SUB.

I can't really offer much on the differences...

But i've been playing my '94 ATK300 for a decade or so now and it's my baby. i LOVE the sound and have gotten a ton of compliments on it. It reminds me of a tweakable active p-bass and i can get a HUGE variety of tones from it. Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's a lesser instrument!

just get one mate :: you will love it! so versatile and bombproof!have done heaps of recordings and festivals........it´s just awesome!
btw i usually play to at least 5000+ people with a 700 watt eden head with a 15¨ warwick cab.
my spector is now my second bass and is jealous :p
just get one u wont regret it :hyper:

I got the ATK705 I believe last year, the one with the extra jazz pickup above the ATK pickup and the Koa top. The extra pickup gives you more range of sounds; theres 5 selectable pickup configs, from your standard bright Stingray-ish tones out of the bottom pickup, a jazz bass copy with both pickups on full, or solo'd jazz pickup (actually sounds like a P with it solo'd...good for effects or dub)

I'd recommend that one, if nothing else, the jazz pickup makes for a good thumb rest

The problem is that the differences aren't consistent.

Currently, the 3** series are made by Cor-Tek in Indonesia.

The 7** series are made by Cor-Tek in Korea. More elaborate electronics and do-nothing decorative top-laminates.

I have both and the S.U.B. is a hugely higher-quality bass where it really matters, though hugely less flashy. Both are too heavy for me to use.
