MR-IV has different dimensions from the MR-II. They aren't interchangeable.
Hi all. I'm looking at the SRSC805, the BTB845SC and the regular BTB845. I played the 845s and like them. However, I played a used BTB33 and really like it. I didn't realize at the time that it was a 33" and that it was tuned EADGC. I see that this was replaced with the BTB845V, which is also tuned EADGC. Has anyone ever tuned this bass BEADG? If not, do people prefer the 805, 845, or 845SC? It seems like the 845s are an "upgrade" (zero fret, Neutrik jack).

I have a BTB854SC and I love it . The neck is great feeling and fast and the string spacing id also good. The electronics sound good and are very versatile . If you have questions feel free to ask

I have always loved Ibanez - I have an SR5005 which I've always loved but recently found a BTB 1206 cheap (I've been wanting a BTB premium or Prestige level) and in need of some repair. Someone had replaced the original pups with EMG, which sound great - the Bart preamp is still in place and now with some new pots the thing actually sounds a lot better than the same model with original pups. I've never been a huge EMG fan, but these things have some real meat to the sound paired with the bart preamp. Has anyone else tried EMG's with bart preamps? It turns out to be a great combo.
BTB 6 String neck contour is actually my preference. It works very well for me and is most comfortable.
Can you post a pic of the route? I was thinking of dropping EMGs in my btb570
More BTB846SC joy from Sunday's brunch gig. Everything's flat except the treble control on the bass is dialed all the way down and I'm on the neck pickup. Plenty of well-intentioned noodling.

I'm more impressed with this bass every time I play it. I love the tone you achieve as well. Do you still have the D'adario half wounds on it?
Yes, I still have the half-rounds on it. They're not optimal for the other, more rock-ish gigs I play, but I really like them for jazz.

Hey guys, I bought a BTB405QM about a month ago, and was wondering about what to shim the neck with.
The B string is all the way down and it's still too high, and I'm telling you I don't like low action. The other strings are as low as I can get them without being totally out of whack compared to the B.
I am concerned that shimming the neck will decrease the solidness of the B string, which is one reason I bought the thing, the other being 19mm spacing.

best if you could post some pics of the problem...
the BTB405QM came with Mono Rail II individual bridges, so is there something different about the low-B string bridge than the rests?
and how about the truss rods, have you set them up properly? are you familiar with dual truss rods setup?
The neck is perfect as far as neck relief. I don't need to touch the truss rods. It's already just right.
did you measure the relief on both bass & treble side of the neck...? (Did you know or have you checked that BTB of yours had two truss rods inside the neck, which work for each bass & treble side?) Unable to get low action only on the low-B could be caused by the bass side truss rod wasn't setup accordingly.
my guess is, since the other strings action are find and Ibanez installed all Mono Rails counter sunk in order they could have low actions equally, so either there is something wrong with the low-B Mono Rail bridge or you still need to adjust the bass side truss rod. I would put a shim as last method (not that I had never done it), given fact that the other strings had already had low actions.
