It most likely is, but I doubt I'll ever get the chance. My point was that a well respected brand, whom I constantly say is overpriced, and a well respected player get together to make that bass leads me to think it's not crap. I doubt TG is forcing Fodera to make something that will be embarrassingly bad to their reputation which is very important at that sort of price point. If I'd used Cort as an example, many would simply have dismissed the whole brand out of snobbiness.

I get that you and some others like the extended scale Bs, there's just some of us here that don't agree and are tired of being talked down to about it when we're happy with our choices. How would you like it if you turned up to the most important gig in your life and the bandleader asks "don't you have a Fender?".

I truly don't see this happening (people being talked down to). I do see people who have no interest in a particular design coming in and eschewing how what they have is perfectly fine and they don't want these. In fact, your first post in this thread was that you weren't interested in these, and that you (paraphrasing here) feel that 37" scale is a fact that needed hidden cos it's offputting to players. Why come into the thread at all, or even you only found your disinterest after, you could've just quietly left, not post inflammatory type comments. It's not too dissimilar to those who (especially in decades past on TB) would do similar things to extended range and extreme tuning threads, which TB had to take a hard stance on.

I have zero interest in Fender basses. I don't go into the fender threads and remark about how much Fenders don't work for me and how OtherBassCompany works well enough.

i am a very pragmatic person. If i showed up to the most important gig of my life… i would be ready for anything. I would pull out my (very loved) fender and kill it! i have no ego that way. I use what i feel is the best tool for a song/gig. And the answer is not always dingwall. I am not a fanboy… even if i am a fan. If someone says… “hey use a fender” and i disagree, i will talk… but at the end if the day, if they insist… and money is money… fender it is! Win win for me. I love variety.

in regards to the fodera… a big name and a big price does not mean magic. I would 100% want to play any bass that price to decide it it works for me. You are making some assumptions. Risky.

Like dingwall… i got a ng3 fiver to try. It was a sight unseen risk… but i have no option to try first. Loved it. Now i have a big $$$ custom dingwall on order. But i would never make that order without playing a dingwall first and evaluating it towards my needs.

back to the fodera, i watched a video of the artist you mention receive his first, and try it. Very cool… but i noted two things: 1. He has a very light touch with is right hand (opposite of me unless i am trying). He chose the short scale because he wanted a lighter six due to right shoulder problems. So part of his design choices were in the name of comfort. And i 100% respect that.

my shared opinions on long scale comes from direct experience. I loved my old fivers… i truly was happy with them for the most part. But a 37 just outperformed when it came to b and lower. And those notes are when i pick up a five or six. So it became another tool in my chest. It was a “wow this tool does the job better… switch.” I am actually mostly a four string player… and fenders and rics are also a big part of my sound.

Aussies: I just rang Manny's and they have no info at the moment, but the young guy I spoke to is going to contact Australis and ask about availability and ETA. He'll let me know when he does and I'll update here and in the EHB thread.

Very interested in and excited about that new multi-scale BTB 6. I've been wanting to try/own something with the 37'' fan thing for a while now, just for a better B (and sometimes low A) but both the Dingwall and the Spector are way past my budget. The only other opinion for a while was the ESP/LTD but I wasn't too crazy about it either.

Now, I've been thinking about getting a BTB 6er too, so this is quite literally everything I've been wanting to get. Hoping they find their way into the hands of Nate Navarro, Ivan Carranza and/or Gregor at Basstheworld soon :bassist:
