Ibanez BTB575FM

Well I just wanted to see if someone has reviewed it and to see some pics. I've played the BTB1205 and found it to be perfect (neck, balance, sound) but that model is now discontinued and it was pricier anyways. I want to know how this model compares to that one. I can't seem to find any info regarding string spacing which is one of my biggest concerns. Most Ibanez basses that I have played have skinny necks. The BTB1205 did not. I am worried because I can't go try one as I don't have a dealer here that has one.
In my opinion, I would say the BTB576FM falls somewhere in between the BTB506 and BTB1206. The string spacing is the same from the 1206 to the 576 to the 506. One of the biggest differences of the 576 is that it is a neck through (which I think all of the BTB's are this year) and the neck is varnished. The 576 has Bartolini MK2 pups in both the neck and bridge (same as the 506) and the Bartolini MK2 preamp (18 volt). This bass does not have the vari mid eq that last years BTB's had, but still gives you a lot of room in either direction. Keeping with tradition, this bass has the Ibanez mono rail bridge, standard Ibanez tuning heads (can't remember if they make them or someone else does), and an overall slick design. The body is mahogony with a flame maple top, the neck is 5 piece maple and bubinga.
As far as playability goes, she's a keeper. It slaps, it taps, it keeps the light on for ya. It has a very quick neck, and anything from booming, thundering lows, to make your ears bleed highs. If you are already a fan of the Ibanez sound, this bass will not disappoint you.
I've only had it about two weeks now, it hasn't been out gigging yet, nor have I had the chance to record it (but knowing my brother in law, its going to sound incredible when I do), but it has gone to practice and did not disappoint me in the slightest.
Overall, if you loved the 1206, you're going to really, really like the 576 (or 1205 - 575 in your case). My only disappointment is that the nut was cut just a touch to low at the A string from the factory. That problem will be solved next week at my local guitar shop gratis.

I am thinking of one..........tried it at the local GC and it played very very nice....
and what is the string spacing on this ?
I compared it to the Schecter and the BTB had more space between the strings, but I cant find any numbers on either one.....

Hi... I own an Ibanez BTB575FM
And I just want to be sure what´s the aprox. lifespan for the 2 9V Batteries... For me it took like 2 weeks for the batteries to die... playing like 2 hours a day (practicing) ...and an 1 hour gig...

They should last much longer than that. The batteries in mine last for months.
Are you leaving the patch cord plugged into the jack? That will cause a constant drain on the batteries. If you're not, then it is possible that your bass has a short and is grounding out, causing the batteries to drain. If this is not something you know how to check, take it to a professional (being a month old, it should still be under warranty).

Hmm... No, I am not leaving the cord plugged...
I´m not sure what´s happening... Maybe it was the brand of the batteries or something... If the batteries I´m using now also get drained quickly I WILL take it to a pro. :s

Tonality wise, I wouldn't say its great stuff. I like my Ibanez SR706, but it's hardly what I'd call great tone. It's just good. No Ibanez I've ever owned has been great. At least tonality wise. But tone is very subjective and you might prefer the tone of these over the other brands on the market.
Though I would say their quality is top notch. I've never had a problem as far as quality goes with any of the ones I've ever owned but I have noticed minor quality flaws in the lower end Ibanez's.
As for the BTB575FM, when I was on the market for a new bass I gave these test drives. They're not bad basses but for the price tag I think you could do better.
As for not being able to find any info on them, I don't think you looked hard enough.

So how's the 'B' string and how does it and overall tone compare to some other basses we might be familiar with (besides Ibenez -- which I'm not)?
Tone is very subjective. I think the Ibanez tone does sound great, whereas I have never been particularly fond of the Fender tone that everyone else seems to love.
Well, I think the low B is very consistent tone wise with the rest of the strings on the BTB. As far as comparing it to other basses, the only other non Ibby basses that I have played lately would be a Washburn XB600 that I gave away awhile back here on TB, and I never really liked that bass to begin with so...
The other would be a Peavey Cirrus 6 that I bought from skb5string here on TB (great bass, thanks again bro), and truth be told, I really haven't had a chance to give her a good going over. If I had to make a comparison, I guess I would say that the low B on the Cirrus is just a tad crisper than the BTB.

Allow me to add to the confusion.
The BTB's B string is quite consistent tonality wise. Much more consistent than the B on my SR706. Its much tighter than the B on both my Fender and Sr706. However, I thought it sounded muddier than the B's on my MIA Jazz Deluxe and SR506. The 55-01 had the best sounding/playing B string IMO for basses in the same price range as the BTB, not to mention that you also get active/passive with the 55-01 that you do not with the BTB. So that also gives it some extra tonal possibilities that you can't get with the BTB.
I do also agree with you that the B on the Cirrus is crisper than the BTB's. That was the main reason I didn't go with the BTB when I was shopping. The B sting just sounded too muddy.
i own this bass, awesome investment. the pickups can be a pain to tweak and it has two truss rods. those are the only cons. its a major running bass also so if you're a slap player this may not be the best decision. the muddiness of the b string thats previously mentioned is remedied with elixir strings
What do you mean by "running bass?"
I had the BTB 405 and it was great for slapping. Also I am probably getting a 575 tomorrow in a trade
I'am giving him around $350-450ish worth of gear plus $100 cash. Sound like a good trade for a BTB575FM, blue, supposedly in like new minty fresh condish?
One of the reasons I got the 575 was for more slapping and funk. Those two truss roads can come in handy with this neck. In the hands a good tech it really helps.
