If Ibanez is reading this I hope they come out with some vintage Roadstar II bass Re-issues

Jeez, it ain't about the looks, its about how it sounds.

Not entirely true - at least in my case. I don't care how good it sounds if to me that bass looks like poop. I won't spend my money on something that sounds good, but doesn't have also the looks. I can't feel comfortable playing on something I don't like aesthetically. But that's just me.
Nice design. Reminds me of the kind of bass that easily could have come out
under the Silvertone brand name for Sears from one of the many suppliers that made
instruments for Sears back in the day.
Being an Ibby however the construction will be a notch above what was made to
fill up the budget market of the 60's and early 70's. It does capture the spirit of those
quirky asian and european imports that came to the states back then.

I like it. It looks like one of the cheesy imports most of us hated at the time, but which left an enduring style. It's a shame it's not a shorty. That's the most unauthentic thing about it.
I saw one at NAMM and thought it still looked cool in person. Up close you can definitely see the Thunderbird - meets Jaguar - meets Burns kinda vibe. I didn't get a chance to play one though. They don't seem to be very available yet... so far I can only find instrumentpro and underbid.com carrying them... but they only cost $350! Might be a fun beater bass.
I really wish Ibanez would use this old-school logo some more... I have a weakness for their lawsuit era basses with that logo... (like the les paul bass in the classifieds).

I think it's cool that Ibanez has taken ownership of it's early days by making the jet-king series of instruments that are at roughly the same price point as the originals, but vastly better instruments.

Checked one out at GC last week, and for $350, it's quite a deal. Didn't plug it in, but it felt pretty good in my hands, and was a tempting little devil.
