Ibanez Love?

Oh yeah - the only thing I didn't like about either bass was that, on the old SR400 (2000 maybe?), there was no active/passive switch. So when your 9v battery ran out in the middle of a gig, you were screwed.

Your SR650 includes an active/passive switch and even turns the treble knob into a passive tone control (awesome!!)
I was wondering about that passive tone thing. So when there is no battery it acts as a passive?

I know left handed people don't have souls but I'll take one after I put the kid to bed yo

It's like this SR5000 in that it has individual saddles. If you look at the saddles, do you think there's enough length in the saddles to restring the lefty to a right handed string set and have proper intonation? I can't tell how much length and shortness there is in the bridge, it's kind of concealed.

The saddles are staggered at an angle to facilitate the intonation of each string in right-handed config. Tha saddles don't have a lot of travel, each.
So, I don't think it could be intonated correctly if switched from Lefty to Righty. If the saddles were all mounted in a straight line, perpendicular to the strings, likely,- but they're not.

Thank you sir.

Where is the Ibanez love? As said in another forum I was planning on acquiring the new SR-650. What do you like and not like about Ibanez and what Ibby's do you own? Tell me your opinions on this bass if you have tried it and if I should get it or not.

Too modern in appearance and tone for me. I don't like soaps either. But to each his own. If you're happy then cool. None of the bands I like feature bassists using ibanez basses either so that's part of it.

I forgot to mention that this bass would mostly be used for metal. I got to try one maybe 2 months ago, which was how I heard of it. Don't remember much about it because it's been awhile and that store hasn't ordered a new one.

I have eight Ibanez basses in my collection. The most awesome of the bunch is an EDA905. I know a lot of people can't stand them, but the weird body is lightweight and comfortable to play. And how can anyone not love an instrument that resembles a giant Cheeto?
