i have played a sr5005 and it was underwhelming.
i felt like playing the ibanez was similar to the feeling of needing to wash a dirty pan to cook some lunch were the warwick was like getting a already clean pan to cook up some tucker with.
the end product is the same, lunch, but it was a less enjoyable version of it.

SR5005.
I have an older SR1300 that has never let me down. From what I've seen the 5005 is leagues better and many professional bassist have used them as a main bass.
Their EQ is great for recording and live performing. As a owner of quite a few Ibanez basses, I've found they have always over delivered at their price point.

I would have to be heavily sedated to choose an Ibanez over a Warwick, unless I was certain I could sell the Ibanez for enough money to buy a Warwick.
If you like Streamer shape you should look for Spector. If you like meati neck than is Streamer for you. If you like fast non chunky neck made from wenge you should go with Ibanez.
I played many Warwicks but i dont like their chunky necks. I think ibanez prestige ofer more for price than Warwick.

Play them both and don't worry about what it says on the headstock. The majority of he people here posting have not out their hands on both bases to compare. Yeah the SR5005 says Ibanez but is the Ford Shelby Cobra a bad performing car?
I own an Ibanez 2009 sr5006. I like the 16.5 mm string spacing. It really depends on your preferred geometry with the right hand plucking and forearm resting on the SR body versus the Streamer body. I swapped out the electronic to a pope pre-amp and the bass is highly comparable to other boutique brands at a fraction of the price. I also have a ramp and used floating thumb resting the bass higher above the solar plexus so it really depends on your plucking approach. See the bass on my avatar. The neck is incredible. I have gone through Warwick streamers and thumbs and the neck dive and baseball bat profiles steared me to the Ibanez prestige 5006, Ibanez GWB01, and Fender American Deluxe 5 as my main instruments. You should go to your local GC and test out there Ibanez premium inventory to make sure you like the ergonomics before you make your final decision.
I think that it matters what type of music that you play I play gospel R/b and Jazz, I guess Rock and roll bassist look at Warwick, Schecter basses that fit the genre, don't know if Ibanez is in that category, I have a Musicman Stingray 5hh, Marcus Miller M and P 7 they are great for whatever type of music you play, I just bought an Ibanex 5005 waiting for it now, we'll see
I just purchased sr5005 from zzounds music . When the bass arrived I was extremely impressed with the craftsmanship and beauty of the bass . I noticed the action was rather high for me so I made truss rod and bridge adjustment with multi tool included with bass . The adjustment was very easy since truss rod adjustment located same place as Stingray . I proceed to plug bass in Ashdown Mag 300 combo and first thing I noticed is bass had low output and passive active toggie switch not working . Something told me check the battery and after checking was pleased to find a dead battery . I replaced the 9volt battery and instantly realized I was playing in passive mode only . After I installed that new battery the bass was able to show me what it was capable of . This bass is 100%. Beast and plays like butter . The Bubinga wenge is absolutely gorgeous, and my action set low just like I like it . The bass has close string spacing at 16.5 and since my fingers not long I was play fast and effortlessly. With the 3-way eq toggle and tone controls I can go from Jaco to Marcus Miller to reggae with no problem . The bass has sone weight to it but it's comfortable weight to gig with and not be distressed by weight . I have Alembic essence ... SR5H .... Dean Edge Pro neck thru and Peavy Cirrus . Ai have not played those basses since I got the Sr 5005 . This bass delivers the goods and I can't wait to unless this beast ON STAGE after we as country get pass this covid 19 crisis . God bless USA

That bass can play ANY sound you want ! If you've never tried one I suggest you do ! That bass needs zero upgrades and sound great active or passive . It's best ibanez I've ever played and it should be at $2500
Also the neck is most comfortable neck I've ever played . I have zero negative say bout this bass .
